1) Blinking.

  • Our eyes get dry out while working on digital devices for long hours. We start feeling sandy, granny, and tired of our eyes.
  • In such conditions, blinking your eyes several times can restore the tear film. 
  • With the help of blinking, oil glands in the eyelids get pumped up which then stimulates their lubricating secretions.
  • Blinking is also helpful in spreading the tears over the eyes.

How to do:

  • Start by closing your eyes, pausing for two seconds, and then opening them again. 
  • Try to willfully hold your eyelids tight while closing them for additional stimulation of the oil glands.

2) Figure Eight.

  • People with bad eyesight find it challenging to trace an object.
  • For such people figure eight exercise can be truly beneficial.

How to do:

  • Initially, choose a point on the floor 10 feet away from you. 
  • Now, try to trace an imaginary figure eight with your eyes. 
  • Keep doing this exercise continuously for  30 seconds.
  • Now again do this by changing the direction.

3) Palming.

  • This is a yoga posture good for eyesight.
  • It relaxes the muscular portion near and around your eyes, thereby reducing fatigue.

How to do:

  • To start, rub your hands together to warm them up.
  • Now, close both of your eyes and place the warm palm of each hand over the parallel cheekbone.
  • Then,  cover your hand over each eye and respire deeply for five minutes.

4) Near And Far Focus.

  • Interchanging between near and far focus helps to train your eyes to engage and relax suitably.

How to do:

  • Firstly, hold your thumb 10 inches from your face and focus on it for 15 seconds. 
  • After 15 seconds, shift your focus to a target 20 feet (6 meters) away.
  • Now again, hold your focus for 15 seconds.
  • Return to your thumb. 
  • Do the same process several times.

5) Pencil Push-Ups

  • This yogic eye exercise is generally used to make the eyes move in toward one another.
  • You can do this exercise by converging your both eyes when looking at a near object.

How to do:

  • To start,  hold a pencil at arm’s length while wearing your best near vision correction.
  • Now, keep focusing on the tip of the eraser. (If there is a letter on the eraser, get it in focus, so it’s readable).
  • Now gently move the pencil towards your nose, putting the eraser or letter single and concentrated. 
  • Once it goes twin, draw it away from the eyes again. 
  • Repeat this exercise several times.
