Alektorophobia is considered to be a specific phobia occurring due to fear of hens or chickens. However, the level of fear may vary from person to person depending on the age. Generally, Phobia is defined as an unreasonable panic of a definite thing, abode, or condition.

If you are an individual being brought up in a more rural area with many chickens, you get easily get into a situation like this. Not only for hen, for any specific animal you are finding in plenty at your near places can make you fall sick of their phobias.
  • Age: You can develop the risk of alektorophobia even at a very early age of 10 years. Even if their effects can be seen later in life, the conditions vary from person to person.
  • Any scary incident: Sometimes a scary incident ever happened to you can become cause your phobia. The people who have somehow experienced a distressing event involving hens or chickens are at risk of developing alektorophobia.
