The Angulo Uniflora.

Belonging to the family of tulip orchids, Anguloa this floral species is a trifling orchid genus narrowly related to Lycaste. In horticulture, this species is commonly designated as Ang. In 1798, this genus was originally designated by José Antonio Pavón and Hipólito Ruiz López.

This class was so termed in the integrity of Francisco de Angulo, Director-General of Mines of Peru. Generally, the habitat required for the development of Angulo Uniflora is the forest floor at high elevations from Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, and Peru.

The Angulo uniflora species are larger, telluric, and epiphytic plants with plump pseudobulbs extended than 20 cm. Their sterile, plicate, and lanceolate leaves can range up to 1m long. The leaves of this floral species are deciduous. They are naturally shacked during the initiation of novel growing. There are several other facts regarding the flowers of Angulo Uniflora that are mentioned below:

  • The flowers of this plant species consist of a strong aroma of cinnamon.
  • These flowers are waxy in looks with two different color variations. However, the color completely depends upon the species and the habitat (mainly greenish-white, red, or yellow).
  • There grows only a single flower per inflorescence from the base of every pseudobulb of Uniflora. The only exception is with white flowers or white tulip orchids that give rise to sic inflorescence per base.
  • The sepals and petals of this floral species carry a bulbous shape. Resembling a tulip, they have got their real name. The lip of flowers is three-lobed with a four-pollinated column.

Swaddled babies’ appearance.

Apart from their unique characteristics or attributes, the flowers of these plants have a swaddled babies’ like appearance. They attain a height of 18 to 24 inches in normal. Their pseudobulbs could be observed in a conical shape just below the orchid’s shrill and frilled leaves.

The interesting fact regarding this flower is about the unique advent. This complex flower has a form like a baby cuddler. This cuddling shape is further wrapped up inside a swaddling cloth. In the comparison of the plant, these flowers are larger and can be observed from a distance.

With a cream-colored coat, the petals are a little shiny and fluffy. This white and wavy turns-over flower gives a different level of lure. These flowers are bloomy and gloomy during the days but are usually off at night.
