About the city.

The forbidden is a famous palace sited in the Dongcheng District, Beijing of China. Being surrounded by many magnificent grand temples and garden fields, this city is widely known for its unique architecture. The buildings of the forbidden city include 54-acred Zhongshan Park. There also lies a sacrificial majestic Inherited temple. Behind this region lies the Beihai park that is covering over 69-hectares of land with 23 hectares of Jingshan Park. Its construction.

Having a glorious past associated with its construction, the forbidden city was erected between 1406 to 1420. As revealed by some sources, the city was the last royal Chinese bastion. Also, it was once considered to be the residence of China’s emperor during the winter season. The main rulers during the time of its construction belonged to the Ming dynasty. Along with them, arise Qing dynasty also took existence in later periods. They ruled for nearly more than a hundred decades that is from 1420 and 1924.

As a hometown.

After the forbidden city was completed in all aspects it is known to have served as the hometown to many emperors of China. The households lying in this city were the ceremonial places and political centers of that time. These small buildings were used by government officials as either their offices or personal homes.

Further, the Chinese government used the palace along with different buildings for more than 500 years. It was only after 1925, the city has been under the responsibilities of the Museum located near the Palace. The extensive collection of artifacts and the artwork are fabricated upon the majestic gatherings of Qing and Ming dynasties. Since the city is now only the showpiece, is declared as a World Heritage Site in 1987.

City’s unique architecture.

  • The forbidden city is comprised of significant traditional and architectural expansions in East Africa and nearby places.
  • This city is now declared as a world heritage site by UNESCO. It is considered to be the chief assembly of conserved antique ligneous structures in the world.
