It was a few years back when a group of three people has set a global record for finishing the lengthiest ever trip via taxi. The three friends named John Ellison (27, Leeds), Paul Archer (23, Gloucestershire), and Leigh Purnell (23, Staffordshire) started driving 15 months before setting this remarkable world record.
When asked about their friendship, they revealed how their friendship led to developing such an amazing bond amongst them. Also, they mentioned that it provided them the strength to overcome the hurdles that came during the complete trip altogether. According to some sources and reports, this trio has also made up the best score to reach the highest altitude via taxi.

To set up their first record, these friends drove for 69,716.12 km(43,319.5 miles) via their old black-colored cab named Hannah. After covering such a long-distance, they reached Covent Garden in London.
This journey covered a total of four different continents and 50 countries worldwide. Another record set by them was to reach the highest altitude via taxi.
To accomplish this task, they journeyed 17,143ft (5,225.4 meters) in the Golmud region of Qinghai Province, China above the mean sea level, via their 20-years-old black taxi. As reported by a spokesperson of Guinness World Records, in total, £79,006.80 spent on these journeys altogether.
Hurdles on the way.
As revealed by the trio, they were deported and suspected as a spy by the Iranian Secret Police. They got arrested by him while traveling through Moscow. Also, passing through the sub-continental regions including Iran, India, Pakistan, and then through the great Himalayas, was truly the challenging part for them while completing their circumnavigation of the world.
